The Opening

It's finally here and open for business! Dorothy's Wardrobe has opened its doors to vintage lovers all over good ole' Notts and it didn't disappoint.
Filled with vintage threads and delightful accessories it was hard to choose what to spend your pennies on.
I have taken some photos of the opening of the shop for you to enjoy, but as the unlucky person I am, my camera battery decided to run out (always happens at the best of times), but thankfully, looking at them now, they look pretty darn good:

The Vintage Fair: Dorothy's Wardrobe

This weekend we paid another visit to The Vintage Fair, which comes to Nottingham four times a year and each visit is always a delight.
Boasting around 40 stalls on an average fair, it is inevitable that you will find something that you'll fall in love with- whether it's an item of clothing or accessory or even a piece of home ware.
Each stall brings something different, whether it's sunglasses from the 1940's or an adorable dress from the 1960's and as usual Dorothy's Wardrobe was no exception.
Giving an insight to the clothes which will be for sale in the Dorothy's Wardrobe shop, (opening in Hopkinson's Gallery soon) you can see exactly what can be expected....lavish material made into beautiful dresses and shirts with details which make it just that little bit more pleasing.

In Nottingham, we've had a weekend of lovely weather, so it gave the customers of the fair another reason to give into their hearts and purchase one of Dorothy's Wardrobe's delightful
summer dresses.

There was also a variety of gorgeous handbags, in a wide range of different styles and sizes.
In this collection you could find a bag perfect for any occasion.

Placed in an old suitcase, was a large selection of beautiful vintage scarf's ....ideal to complete any vintage outfit, giving it that extra touch.

Perfect for the summertime, there was also an assortment of retro sunglasses and looking at the bargain price of £7 each, they weren't one to miss.

Handmade Jewellery is also on the list of what Dorothy's Wardrobe has to offer. Each piece delicately made, would give a unique finish to any outfit.

This is only a small preview of what will be in Dorothy's Wardrobe shop and we'll keep you posted on the happenings of the store, so keep in touch!

From knitwear to nannies

Lottie Ibberson is who we have to thank for Dorothy’s Wardrobe, the gorgeous little shop which resembles and 60’s/70’s summerhouse, opening in the Hopkinson’s Gallery soon. With only a little longer to wait we’ll be here, keeping you up to date on all the parties, events and happenings that us folk get up to and you can join in too. We often find that it’s much nicer to know who you’re buying from and because of that we are giving you an introduction to Dorothy’s Wardrobe and how it came about.

Lottie studied fashion knitwear in Nottingham and after leaving university she built up management experience in retail. Lottie eventually became manager of Jade Shoes which, two years later, had a total re-brand, in which, Lottie was one of the main driving forces.  Her responsibilities broadened to include the buying of new stock, the store re-design, even the new name was down to her. ‘Kitsch’ was the creation, but Lottie has always wanted to work for herself with none of the restraint or restrictions that come with working for other people. And so the world saw the birth of Dorothy’s Wardrobe. Her aim is to be fully self employed by the end of the year but we don’t think this will be hard at all because once the doors are open no one will want to leave the charming building or the fabulous collection of vintage clothes, handmade jewellery and nick-knacks galore. In the very near future Dorothy’s Wardrobe will be introducing a bespoke line of 60’s inspired clothing all made using vintage fabrics that are just to die for. This is an opportunity my dears, to look fabulous all day long, so stay tuned for sneaky peaks and all those extra pieces of information that you just know you want to know about.
